SLA101: Introductory Formlabs Resin 3D Printers

Form 2

Desktop SLA 3D printer

As 3D printing has grown more affordable and commonplace in the last decade, different types of printing have emerged. One of these is SLA, which stands for stereolithography. This type of printing is slower and messier than a Prusa or Ultimaker, but prints are much higher quality and can be made from exotic materials such as wax or ceramic.

The Form 2 is one of Formlabs resin printers. We love the Form 2 for its ease of access and its reliability. It is capable of printing parts with a resolution of 25 micrometers - over twice as fine as our Ultimaker printers! We've seen makers create jewelry, flex sensors, and more on our Form 2.

Type: Inverted-stereolithography SLA printer

Print Volume: 145 x 145 x 175 mm (5.7 x 5.7 x 6.8 inches)

Resolution: Up to 25 microns (0.025 mm)

Materials: Resin, Tough Resin, Durable Resin, Flexible Resin, Ceramic, Castable Wax
