Wood lathes can be used to create functional furniture, beautiful wood projects such as bowls or candlesticks, and even toys such as tops and yo-yos. These machines can range in size from hobby models that fit on a work bench to large industrial-sized machines weighing hundreds of pounds, but they all share some basic elements.

We'll teach you those basic elements, and how to use the wood lathe safely and responsibly. It might be a bit overwhelming for beginners, which is why WRK104 is an excellent place to start. You’ll be spinning in no time.
