WRK101: Workshop Tool Best Practices

Dewalt Impact Driver

An impact driver is similar in appearance to a standard drill but is designed to provide far more torque. Impact drivers are designed primarily for sinking large screws and bolts but can also be used to drill holes with special drill bits that have a ¼’’ hex driver shank.

Our impact driver of choice is the Dewalt Impact Driver. Like most impact drivers, it's a powerful tool capable of installing almost any hardware into wood. It delivers over 1800 in-lb of torque - enough force to sink bolts into just about anything.
